Pelmorex, founded in 1989, is an international weather information and data management company. Pelmorex owns and operates the weather brands The Weather Network, MétéoMédia, Eltiempo.es, Clima, and Otempo.pt. It also operates Canada’s National Alert Aggregation and Dissemination System, part of Alert Ready. 

Through constant innovation and entrepreneurship, Pelmorex has grown to reach consumers around the globe, has become one of the largest weather information providers and has broken new ground in providing data solutions and insights to businesses. 

Indigenous people and communities feature prominently in Pelmorex’s weather and climate programming and editorial content. Since 2022 our Indigenous Advisory Circle has been helping us deepen our commitment and service to Indigenous people across all areas of our business.

Pelmorex Indigenous Student Award

The Pelmorex Indigenous Student Award will be distributed annually to an Indigenous student who is attending any post-secondary institute or program within Canada, encouraging and assisting students in their pursuit for higher education.

Awards Category: Post-Secondary
Deadlines: August 1, November 1, February 1
Program of Study: Any student in Canada in any post-secondary undergraduate or graduate program.Open to any field of study, with a strong focus on Business, Computer Science, Journalism, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Advertising & Marketing
Level of Study: Any
Indigenous Affiliation: Any
