George Blondin

George Blondin – a Sahtu Dene elder, trapper, miner, former Chief, journalist, author, member of the Order of Canada and storyteller – was born in 1922 on the trap line and was raised in the bush in the Sahtu region in the Northwest Territories. He passed away in 2008.

The George Blondin Aboriginal Scholarship

The George Blondin Memorial Scholarship was created in his honour and is awarded to an Indigenous person from the Northwest Territories who is a full-time student in a post-secondary institution.
