Southern Chiefs’ Organization

Southern Chiefs’ Organization represents 32 Anishinaabe and Dakota Nations and more than 87,000 citizens in what is now called southern Manitoba. SCO is an independent political organization that protects, preserves, promotes, and enhances First Nations peoples’ inherent rights, languages, customs, and traditions through the application and implementation of the spirit and intent of the Treaty-making process.

We believe education is key to a better future and prosperous communities, and we recognize the hard work and commitment that First Nation students put into their studies.

SCO Anishinaabe and Dakota Scholarship

These awards will be distributed to students who are status members of one of the 32 Southern Chiefs’ Organization Communities attending post-secondary institutions with proven financial need for contribution to education costs.
