Frontier Lithium

Frontier Lithium is committed to responsibly mining and processing lithium from its PAK project in Northwestern Ontario. It aims to produce ethically-sourced lithium products to feed the manufacturing sector in southern Ontario, including electric vehicle (EV) battery supply chains that will contribute to the low carbon transition for future generations. 

Frontier is committed to long-lasting relationships with First Nations communities and to providing social, cultural, and economic benefits as it advances the PAK Lithium Project. Frontier recognizes the importance of continued education and wishes to support the next generation of First Nations leaders. Consistent with this, Frontier is pleased to offer financial support to area First Nations students seeking higher education.

Sam Meekis Memorial Scholarship

The Sam Meekis Memorial Scholarship honours the life, work, and memory of Sam Meekis of Sandy Lake First Nation. Sam was part of the Frontier Lithium team for many years and contributed to the development of the PAK Lithium Project. This scholarship is one way to remember Sam with respect and to support Indigenous students as they build their own path forward.

The program is meant to support hope, learning, opportunity, and healing. It recognizes that education can open doors for young people and families, and that stronger futures are built when communities, youth, and partners walk forward with care, respect, and purpose.

$5,000 bursaries will be awarded annually to a member of each of the 4 communities listed below who are attending post-secondary institutions including participating in apprenticeships across Canada.
