Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC)

The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) is the federal Crown corporation that contributes to the stability of the Canadian financial system by providing deposit insurance so that if your bank has to close, you won’t lose all your savings. Coverage is free and automatic; you don’t need to sign up. CDIC is funded by premiums paid by its member financial institutions and does not receive public finds to operate.

CDIC Bursary

The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation bursaries will be distributed to Indigenous students who are attending post-secondary institutions across Canada and identify as women.

Although demonstrated financial need will be the primary consideration, other factors (such as academic merit or performance and involvement in or contribution to the community as a whole) will also be taken into consideration.
