Canadian Bar Association of British Columbia

The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) is the essential ally and advocate of all members of the legal profession and is committed to enhancing the professional and commercial interests of a diverse membership and to protecting the independence of the judiciary and the Bar.

The CBA is a professional, voluntary organization which was formed in 1896, and incorporated by a Special Act of Parliament on April 15, 1921. Today, the Association represents 36,000 lawyers, judges, Quebec notaries, law teachers, and law students from across Canada, of which more than 6,800 are members of the BC Branch (CBABC).

Canadian Bar Association of British Columbia Aboriginal Scholarship

The Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch (CBABC) with the assistance of the CBABC Equality and Diversity Committee negotiated an agreement with Indspire to advance legal education for Indigenous persons through the establishment of three annual scholarships for Indigenous persons to attend law school at the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria, and the Thompson Rivers University.
